WHAT IS VERDANT PRAIRIEs VILLAGE?
Verdant Prairies Village (VPV) is a new mixed use residential community planned for southeast Urbana, Illinois. In zoning terms, it is a PUD (Planned Unit Development) which means it is a special area of a city that is pre-planned to integrate different types of buildings in a harmonious design.
Verdant Prairies Village is targeted at individuals and families who are interested in maintaining a sense of community while minimizing the time and effort required to maintain a large home with extensive landscaping. This multi-age community offers a variety of housing types including single and two story villas, town homes, and upscale apartments with under building parking and elevators.
The variety of housing types and flexible floor plans provide attractive alternatives for singles, couples, and families who are focused on quality of life and community.
lOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!
Simplifying your lifestyle is easy when services are within biking and walking distance. Shopping, banking, dining and medical facilities are located down the street from Verdant Prairies Village. Both Christie and Carle Clinics have satellite offices just east of VPV behind the Meijer Superstore complex with its grocery, pharmacy and housewares departments as well as gas station. Coffee houses and restaurants offer family dining options at the corner of Windsor and Philo Road.
An attractive feature of VPV is its superb location across Windsor Road from Meadowbrook Park, with its acres of walking trails and sculpture gardens. There is no need to maintain a large yard, when your playground is minutes away. In addition, a perimeter walking path allows residents to walk, jog and bike around the community for recreation.

The Verdant Prairies Village site was once a private facility: Windsor Swim Club. Featuring three pools, a clubhouse, and tennis court; the facility was a summer recreation home for generations of Urbana, Illinois residents.
The outdated pool facility was sold to Michele & Gary Olsen in 2009 and demolition was completed in 2012 creating a park like setting.
A community for all..
